This is a first-person narrative written with the help of volunteers Celeste and Bill Boyd, who interviewed Mr. Kennedy at length in 2011. Mr. Kennedy, 86 at the time of this publication, has approved the book as accurately reflecting his wartime service and recollections.

Tuolumne Veterans History Project is an all-volunteer effort operating under the nonprofit fiscal agency of Central Sierra Arts Council. We would like to thank the Sonora Area Foundation for its support. This project has been partially funded through a grant from the Irving J. Symons Foundation for Tuolumne County, a supporting organization of Sonora Area Foundation.
